Nic was born in Curepipe, Mauritius many moons ago. He studied Arts and English & French Literature in his early years, favouring acrylic painting on large canvas, often inspiring from his favourite artist, Salvador Dali. He is obsessed by all things 'The Little Prince' and is also a former semi-pro Volleyball player, having represented Mauritius on several occasions.
Since moving to Perth, Western Australia, Nic rarely paints nowadays, but has channelled his creativity through photography. Nic is mostly known for his travel and documentary style photography, slightly favouring portraiture. His evolution as a photographer is apparent in his pursuit of creating monochromatic images.
“As humans, we’re very attuned to how colour makes us feel. However, with the right composition, a monochrome can convey emotions in a far more powerful way. Colour is a delight to the eye. Monochrome delights the soul.”
